Kane

Kane was very upset with himself. On one hand, he felt that he was wrong to have gone after Thayden. It was an issue that would be handled by the clan officials. They would punish Thayden for what he did to Rainie.

On the other hand, what kind of man would he be if he didn’t go after Thayden and give the man a good beating for hurting a woman that he cared about? That was why he had done it.

However, once he came face to face with the lion shifter, the hatred and anger took over. It was as though a horrific monster had taken over inside of him and exploded. Once he started fighting Thayden, he wanted to kill him. It had taken every ounce of Kane’s will power to not press down on the lion shifter’s throat and simply stomp the life out of him.

His hatred and anger and desire to destroy Thayden made him more like his brothers than he cared to admit.

He did have to give himself credit for not actually killing him. He did stop. Maybe that was the big difference between himself and the rest of his family.

Kane decided that he needed a break from everything and took a portal to the human world. He had gone to the human world several times and really enjoyed himself each time he went.

On one of his excursions, he had found a portal in Texas, and thought that it was perfect there. The weather was warm, the people were nice, and there was always a lot of exciting new adventures to be had. What was best about Texas, though, was that the women were exceedingly beautiful.

The portal was hidden in plain sight. It was actually in the corner of a very nice hotel.

He grabbed a room and got settled in, taking a little bit of a nap before it was time to enjoy the exciting night life that Texas offered.

When he walked into the club that night, heads turned. Both men and women looked at him, appraising him, although with different purposes. The men were sizing up the competition. The women were looking at him as though he was going to be their next meal.

The great thing about the human world was that he could drink as many beers as he wanted and it wouldn’t affect him in the least. Human alcohol wasn’t strong enough to have an effect on shifters.

He hadn’t been sitting down for a second when a platinum blond woman came over to his table and sat next to him. Her dress was more of a piece of cloth, barely covering her breasts and ass. It was short enough that when she stretched a little bit, he could see that she was wearing thong panties.

He never understood that particular article of clothing. If one was simply going to wear something that had a string going up the crack of one’s ass, why wear anything at all. Kane figured it was just part of the packaging – kind of like the wrapping on a birthday present.
